SARAJEVO, September 5th (FENA) - The Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of B&H, Safet Halilović, welcomed today to his office in Sarajevo the Egyptian team of experts and the Egyptian Ambassador to B&H and members of the Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation, where they discussed the research project in Visoko's Valley of the Pyramids, including ways in which to improve upon the program already in place, according to a statement issued by the Minister's cabinet.
The Egyptian delegation included: Dr. Mona Fouad Aly, Dr. Soleiman Hamed El Heweli, Dr. Nabil Swelim, alongside the Egyptian Ambassador, and Foundation representatives Semir Osmanagić and Ahmed Bosnić.
"We visited five archaeological locations, including the underground tunnels, in which we found inscriptions on the blocks and took samples for further study upon our return to Egypt"- Dr. Fouad stated.
She added that the research project in Visoko is extremely important for the entire Bosnian nation and should incorporate the involvement of relevant academic institutions within B&H.
Doctor El Heweli and Dr. Swelim stated again that the pyramids in Visoko are the work of human hands, which have the two basic elements of a pyramidal structure: the aesthetics and structural stability. They stated that the archaeological research should continue by all means.
Minister Halilović thanked the Egyptian experts for their involvement in the research of Visoko's Valley of the Pyramids, which is proving to be a true archaeological, geological and cultural phenomenon.
"People are usually hostile towards the unknown" said Minister Halilović. He added that he supports the local enthusiasts and endorses further research which will contribute to a raised awareness and validation of this phenomenon. He also stated that this project can only enhance the international promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
